Annemarie Lean-Vercoe studied cinematography at the National Film and Television School in London where she was the recipient of the prestigious Freddie Francis Scholarship and won the Kodak Award over two consecutive years.
Since graduating in 2002 Lean-Vercoe has shot short films, promos and feature films and documentaries across Africa, Asia, North America and Europe. Recent projects include two feature documentaries called Moving To Mars, following a family of refugees from Burma to their new life in the UK and Erasing David, a study of Britain’s current obsession with data collection and surveillance culture.
Working in collaboration with Marcus Coates and Chrome Hoof, Lean-Vercoe will develop an evolving video archive recording the changes currently taking place in the South London neighbourhood of Elephant & Castle.
