Henry Stringer

Velocoaster build - photo: Anna Arca

For this commission Henry developed the Velocoaster, a hybrid of a roller coaster and velodrome constructed out of hundreds of 2nd hand scaffold planks, eight thousand screws, paint and fifty meters of festoon lighting.

This work is developed from The Hannah Barry Ghetto Velodrome Association, which he installed on the Peckham Rye Multistory Car Park roof in 2008 (with Oliver Griffin) as part of Bold Tendencies II, produced and curated by the Hannah Barry Gallery.

The Clusterfuck audiences were encouraged to directly engage with the sculpture by riding electrified bicycle guitars around the structure.

Henry is currently studying his B.A degree at Central Saint Martins, London.
