Interestingly video has eclipsed photography’s primacy as a medium for western documentation and surveillance. The development of digital photography undermines the image once assumed to document “the real”. In The Players, the covert filming, the hand-held style and the gradual revelation of parked police van’s harbouring a squad of on-duty officers playing football, is a hilarious role reversal of power structures and the gaze.
Noemi was borne in Canada where she has recently returned after completing her Masters at The Chelsea College of Arts in London.
