In Tobias Sternbergs “Physical Impossibility of Eating a Banana”, the threat of bank robbery is made impotent by it really being “a banana in his pocket”. And yet the stocking to disguise his identity renders the banana’s life libretto useless. By wearing an army uniform and performing his action as one under command: the mocked effectuality of militias as forces of reason . This seems particularly appropriate given that the on-going solution to world conflict continues to be war.
